Obituary for Maurice Lanelle "Nana" Nation (Willis)

Ms. Maurice Lanelle Nation, 69, of Adairsville passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2019 at her son’s residence in Adairsville.

Born on August 25, 1949 in Calhoun, GA she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Victor Willis and the late Mary Elsie Hopkins Willis.

Maurice was better known as “Nana”. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and a dear beloved friend to all who met her. She enjoyed scrapbooking and cross-stitching, but more than anything else she loved taking care of her family. Her motto was, “forget my needs and make time for others.”

She leaves behind three children, her son, Barry & Marcia Nation of Atlanta; her daughter, Rhonda Filetti of Rome; her son, Reggie & Brandy Nation of Adairsville; several grandchildren, Allison (Jon Hollingsworth) Williams, Brittany (Jess) Williams, Tyler (Garrett) Filetti, Hanna (Dylan) Cochran, Lacy Kerns, Courtney Nation, and Hunter Nation; her great-grandchildren, Copelan Williams, Hadley Williams, Mila Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Ovell Nation and Reverend Earl Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Nation, Dylan Cochran, Dwight Fox, Jonathan Hollingsworth, Jess Williams, and Bobby Marshall.
