Obituary for Barbara Potts

Mrs. Barbara Ruth Potts, 71, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born on January 21, 1948 in Rome she was the daughter of the late RT Sparks and the late Ruth Mae Pearson Sparks.

Mrs. Potts was a machine operator at Cartersville Spinning until her retirement. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle and was known to be a friendly, outgoing person who never met a stranger. She enjoyed canning, cooking, gardening and working in her flower beds. She loved spending time with her family and will always be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, James “Bud” Potts of Kingston; her daughters, Rhonda Potts of Kingston, and Renee McFarland (Michael) of Kingston; her sisters, Bertha Ann Sparks Isbell of Cartersville, Joyce Sparks Gardener of Rydal, and Susie Sparks Tant of Cartersville; her brothers, Robert Sparks of Rydal, Larry Sparks of Rydal, Wayne Sparks of Coosa, and Harold Sparks of Adairsville; her granddaughter, Heather Walker of Cartersville; and her great-granddaughter, Aubrey Telliard of Cartersville; and her great-grandson, Brooks Walker of Cartersville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019 with Reverend Greg Gardener, and Reverend C.E. Wilkey officiating. Burial will follow in Kingston City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers are Isaac Gardener, Anthony Walker, Shane Tant, Jody Tant, Leon Tant, Nathan Tant, and Mickey Ray. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Duvall, Johnny Ray, and Dylan Tant.
