Obituary for Annie Lou Munday (Ray)

Annie Lou Ray Munday, 95, of Cartersville died on December 24, 2018 at Townsend Park. Born in Cartersville on June 26, 1923 she was the daughter of the late James Ray and the late Mary Trammel Ray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Munday, whom she married in June of 1947.

Annie Lou was a member of Wofford’s Crossroads Baptist Church where she was baptized at the age of fifteen. She was a hard worker and always had a love of cooking. Annie Lou loved her family and always waited for her nightly phone call from her granddaughter Melissa and her special breakfasts with her son, Leon.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Lavern Munday; her grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Jan Howren, Melissa and Roger Hawkins, and Stella and John Williams; her great-grandchildren, Caleb Hawkins, Joseph Hawkins, Mallory Howren, Nolan Howren, Molly Williams, Cameron Williams, and Abbey Howren; her brother, JR Ray; and her special friend, Ethel Walgreen.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Larry Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
